Intense coloured shapes made from torn sheets of hand painted paper
Raina Goran ARWS is a contemporary mixed media artist making work inspired by the city, landscape and the sea. Working in acrylic and collage, she records the essence of a place by editing and abstracting what she sees into patterns of intense coloured shapes, often made from torn sheets of hand painted paper.
Goran is an associate member of the Royal Watercolour Society, having studied illustration at Wimbledon School of Art and working as a Creative Director in the Greeting card Industry. Her illustration training informs her current work, with further influences coming from artists such as Barbara Rae, Hockney and Matisse.
Goran exhibits regularly at the Bankside Gallery in London, and has also shown work at the Mall Galleries, with the NEAC, Society of Women Artists and The Royal Institute of Painters in Watercolours.
