Alice is a contemporary painter known for her vibrant water-based paintings and collages depicting shapes and patterns found in the natural world.
Alice says that she looks for 'everyday joy'; the 'little pops of joy readily available to us all; the sun shining on icy ground, the shape of a leaf or tree, or the squeals of delight a child expresses in seeing a mushroom growing on the ground'.
Travel is an important part of Alice’s practice. Recent projects have materialised from visits to Kew Gardens and Costa Rica, where she says her 'senses were overwhelmed with biodiversity on many levels; from mangroves to cloud forests, to swamps and junglework'.
Alice sites Bruce McClean, Barbara Rae, Tessa Pearson, Matisse and Yayoi Kasuma as artists who have influenced her work to date. She shows her work regularly in London, in solo and group shows, and art fairs, as well as having had work selected for open exhibitions.
