'....... rich, warm palette and strong contrasting tones'
Originally from Yorkshire, Dawn now lives and works in London, where she makes bold and expressive landscape pastel paintings.
Working Plein Air and in her studio, Dawn records snippets of the green spaces and urban pathways that she discovers when exploring the suburbs of North London.
Dawn’s paintings express the seasons, the weather and the mood of the day, using a rich, warm palette and strong contrasting tones that remind us of artists of the past such as Constable and Gainsborough, and contemporary painters such as George Shaw.
Dawn will be having her first solo exhibition in February 2020 at the Wellhouse Gallery, Horndon on the Hill, Essex.
