Michelle Karpus

'Paintings that remind us of our childhood dreams, where anything is possible’

Michelle Karpus is currently working on a collection of brightly coloured, expressive dog and cat portraits to aid conversations about feelings. Karpus is investigating the use of Emotion Cards in psychotherapy, helping both adults and children to find the words needed to communicate their inner feelings. Karpus’s paintings, with fast, confident brush marks of thick acrylic paint, are light-hearted and child-like; animals have human characteristics, sometimes wearing props, drawing us into Karpus’s whimsical fantasy world.
