‘A painter who distills the essence of a landscape’
Margaret’s oil and acrylic paintings are interpretations of beautiful and dramatic locations.
By means of simplification, good composition, bold colour and expressive marks, she concentrates the visual and emotional experience of a scene. Margaret's compositions often move us from dark towards the light; from the shadow of a tree, through branches or through a hedge, to a brightly lit area beyond. Margaret’s landscapes seem to symbolise movement towards a brighter future.
Margaret has been selected for the Royal Watercolour Society’s Contemporary Watercolour Competition on two occasions, as well as the Hertford Open and has been a prize winner at the Artsdepot Open.
Margaret is represented by Wychwood Art, both online and at their Oxfordshire gallery. She is a member of the London Painters and Sculptors Group and has completed commissions and sold work from group exhibitions in London.
