Painting memories of the Agean coast.
Ayse McGowan’s land and sea scapes celebrate her nostalgic and joyous memories of being with her family in her native-land Turkey, particularly on the Agean coast. Her paintings reflect her love of the light and colour found in the area, and present desirable, longed for views, away from the hustle and bustle of her day to day London life.
McGowan was encouraged to paint from a young age by her mother, whose own portrait paintings filled the family home. She went on to study Product Design, followed by a Masters Degree in Graphic Design and worked in marketing, before deciding to return to painting to exhibit and make work to commission.
