Congratulations to Caroline Matthews who is currently immersed in a busy period of exhibitions. Last month she opened her house and studio to visitors for a very successful studio sale, which was followed by showing her pastel painting ‘Bright and Bold Autumn, Trent Park‘ as part of the Pastel Society and her drawing ‘Long Shadows’ as part of the Society of Graphic Fine Arts, both held at the Mall Galleries in London. Finally, Matthews will be joining forces with Michelle Weiner for the exhibition, “Rooted Memories – Lasting Connections” to be held at Lauderdale House in Highgate, London.
Matthews’ soft pastel paintings and pen drawings immerse you in a tapestry of emotion, colour, light and texture found in woodlands. Weiner’s prints (ranging from, linocut, collagraph, drypoint etchings and delicate embossings) intertwine organic forms and human relationships, creating an atmosphere of nostalgia and curiosity. The exhibition invites visitors to reconnect, reflect, and celebrate the bonds that exist between individuals and their environments, both familial and natural.
