Having made dozens of Impressionistic landscapes in oils over the past year, and a few watercolours and drawings too, one of our newest Studio Fridays artists, Simon Gazzard, had his first solo exhibition, at the Peggy Jay Gallery in Burgh House, Hampstead. A buzzing opening night was followed by a week of events and demonstrations, ending with a very impressive number of sales!
The gallery reported that Gazzard’s ‘beautiful landscapes were a real hit with guests to the house. There was a fresh, crisp, natural energy to his work and the colour palette of blues and greens worked really well in our gallery space. Simon also set up an easel and live painted for the duration of the show and happily chatted with guests, answering any questions, and providing an insight into his creative process. It was great to have the artist to engage with our visitors and bring the pieces to life.’
